The client plans to build a car racing-themed tourism district in the Tangli precinct of Houzhai neighborhood. The design tasks include the economic planning of the 17.4km2 area and the conceptual planning of the 6.6km2 area. Through the background analysis, the project is positioned to be ‘the multi-themed urban park & eco-CBD at the north gateway’. In our vision, the 17.4km2 area will become the center of themed entertainment, auto trade and eco-residential. Considering the nature resource conditions of the site, 5 featured districts - Automobile Racing Park, Auto Trade Expo, Resort Town, Trade Culture Expo and Tangli Leisure Zone are planned, accompanied with the development capacity analysis. Based on the site analysis of the 6.6km2 area, the concept of designing a landscape-featured car racing place while organizing the circulation of automobile and people properly is behind our design scheme. We proposed a series of planning strategies regarding land use, road accesses and open space according to the 4 design principles: traffic separation, activity organization, water town creation and nature penetrates. Following the planning strategies, the urban design presents the characteristic image of Automobile Racing Park, Auto Trade Expo, Resort Town and Tangli Leisure Zone.
