Qianjiang New CBD is located in the southeast Hangzhou and the north bank of Qiantang River. It will include office, finance, trade, information industry and encourage developing logistics, commercial, culture and sports, residential industry, etc. Public buildings inlucding civic center, international conference center, Hangzhou grand theater will be built. Business and financial modern offices will be encouraged with highend hotels, restaurants and other supporting facilities. Functional distributions include business area, security financial center, administration office area, culture leisure zone, commercial entertainment complex, waterfront leisure area and high-end residential area. The space layout will focus on highrise clusters to reflect modern city characteristics. All buildings height, brightness and density will be world class. It also respects the historical pattern of 3 sides of cloud and 1 side of city. Considering the urban development needs in the future, the new CBD emphasizes underground city of the core area and the connection between large parking lot, subway, sidewalk and public transportation. Combining open space and landscape axis, a beautiful city landscape corridor will be built. The design has been awarded the 1st prize at international competition.
