Changsha has the ambitious goal of building a global R&D center and OBERMEYER facilitate that very endeavour. Wangcheng District is taking the Xiangjiang River as an axis, vigorously promoting the construction of “One River, Two Sides”, and focusing on the construction of “New Provincial Capital Landmark, Xiangjiang Future City”. In Changsha's urban development map, as the only urban area that straddles both sides of the Xiangjiang River and boasts 35 kilometers of golden shoreline resources. Wangcheng stands out in the new round of urban development process in Changsha by virtue of its unique geographic advantages and has been given a new historical mission.  

Daze Lake Area in Wangcheng is undoubtedly a rare plate of “One River, Two Sides”, the forefront of the expansion of Changsha's main city, serves as a vital foundation for Wangcheng’s vision of the “Xiangjiang Future City.”  It is not only one of Changsha's “Ten Major Urban Areas”, with the country's first returnee town to be officially inaugurated and operated, but also one of the “Three Bases” for Changsha's construction of a global R&D center city.

“Wangcheng will take a global perspective, benchmark international standards, highlight Hunan characteristics, plan from a high starting point, construct with high standards, manage at a high level, and promote the Daze Lake area to stride towards the future city of 'international style, Changsha flavor'! ” – as the Wangcheng District leader outlined a clear direction for building the “Xiangjiang Future City”.

Based on its extensive experience in urban planning and concepts, drawing on Germany's urban planning principles, highlighting a global perspective, international standards, and Hunan characteristics, from the top-level design, OBERMEYER ‌endowed the planning and design of Daze Lake Area unique foresight, scientific, holistic and sustainable. The project takes Daze Lake as the ecological foundation and designs an integrated development model centered on “ecology, intelligence, vitality, and livability”.

In the OBERMEYER conceptual strategy, the Daze Lake area will focus on two leading industries of intelligent terminals and life health, adhere to the innovation drive, improve R&D speed, attract talents to converge, construct a spatial framework of “One Ring, Two Belts, Three Zones, and Multiple Nodes”. the “One Ring” refers to the headquarters economic circle surrounding Daze Lake, while the “Two Belts” include the Xiaoxiang North Road comprehensive development belt and the Xiangjiang River shared vitality belt. The “Three Zones” are: the southern core area of the returnee town, with institutions like returnee colleges, R&D platforms, international schools, and hospitals; the central area near the Daze Lake Natural Wetland Park, featuring open and shared green ecological spaces; and the northern zone, which hosts international intelligent terminal headquarters, smart data centers, and other headquarters economic facilities.

By OBERMEYER designation – the area will form a Circle Development pattern, encourage a centralized Mix with a 3D space TOD system, and turn the core area of the metro station and its influence belt into a 24-hour urban vitality center. That way empowering everyone's life and establishing a close connection between people, industry, commerce and the HUB.

In the future, the Daze Lake City will take spatially water as its lifeline and greenery as its essence to create an international waterfront gateway, stimulate the growth of diversified urban vitality, fostering a harmonious synergy between ecology and urban development, and creating a riverfront innovative future city with sustainable vitality.
