OBERMEYER was invited to participate in the “the International Solicitation for Conceptual Planning and Urban Design of Shuangjiang Lake New Area in Yiwu” evaluation meeting.

Mr. Christopher Knabe, OBERMEYER China's General Manager, attended the evaluation meeting of “the International Solicitation for Conceptual Planning and Urban Design of Shuangjiang Lake New Area in Yiwu” as a judge.

Recently, OBERMEYER China's General Manager, Mr. Christopher Knabe, accompanied by Ms. Zhang Liuxu, OBERMEYER's Urban Design Director, was invited as an expert for the Evaluation Meeting of “the International Solicitation for Conceptual Planning and Urban Design of Shuangjiang Lake New Area in Yiwu". The evaluation meeting was successfully held in Yiwu on the 1st of December.

 

The expert review panel consists of 7 Master/Senior Experts in the field of Planning and Design, and it is chaired by Tang Kai, former Chief Planner of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. The panel also includes Sima Xiao, Executive Director of the China Urban Planning Society and Chairman of the Shenzhen Urban Planning and Design Research Institute; Wang Shifu, Deputy Director of the Urban Design Branch of the Society and Vice Dean of the School of Architecture at South China University of Technology; Liu Hongzhi, Vice President and Head of Strategy and Development for AECOM China; Yang Tao, Deputy Director of the Urban Transportation Planning Professional Committee of the Society and Chairman of the Nanjing Urban and Transportation Planning and Design Institute Co., Ltd.; Yuan Mu, Deputy Director of the Urban Design Branch of the Society and Vice President of Tsinghua Tongheng Urban Planning and Design Institute; and Christopher Knabe, General Manager of OBERMEYER China.

 

The experts conducted a concentrated survey of the site, carefully reviewed the documents, the exhibition boards and models, and gained a deep understanding of the project background. After that, they listened to the project presentations from the five organizations. Following multidimensional evaluations and discussions, they voted to rank the proposals.
