OBERMEYER is honored to be invited in the international competition for industry planning and urban design of SANY Science City in Changsha, Hunan province.

SANY Science City is located at the east subsidiary-center of Changsha city. Situated inside Hunan free-trade area (FTA), the site has witnessed the industrial development of the city for the past three decades. In the future the project shoulders the mission of industrial upgrading and city renovation.

Integrated Innovation Cluster

On the strength of SANY Group’s production capacity, the plan drives the integration of upper- and lower-stream cooperation based on the present industrial foundation, aiming to achieve the transformation from a single-function industrial park to an integrated innovation community, from a science park to a science city.

A smart city is a sharing city. By building an interconnected collaboration platform centered on high-end equipment manufacturing supported by technological innovation, OBERMEYER aims to develop the triple helix model of innovation, promoting cooperation among public sectors, academia and business, that will spark creativity.

Recent outstanding performance on such topic includes the award-winning project of Nantong Central Innovation Area Headquarter Center Urban Design.

Background

SANY Science City project is organized by SANY Group and Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone. The total area is 2.8km², close to Changsha Airport Economic Demonstration Zone and high-speed railway area. It aims to be an exemplary project of world-class equipment manufacturing base and city-industry integration.
