OBERMEYER was invited to the 5th International Symposium on People Oriented Urban Design organised by the Southeast University.

 

In early November, OBERMEYER was invited to participate in the international urban design conference hosted by Southeast University. The conference was chaired by Professor Yi Xin from Southeast University and invited Mr. Remy Sietchiping, head of UN-Habitat, and professors / urban design experts from universities in China, Germany, and other parts of the world to share their insights and prospects for future urban development.

 

OBERMEYER Presentation: Urban Lightweight Development Model

Mr. Christopher Knabe, the General Manager of OBERMEYER China, delivered an insightful speech on very acute trends in urban development as well as transportation and the future of people oriented urban design, sparking lively inspiration throughout the venue. The presentation compared the city growth in Europe, America and Asia, and pointed out that the cities are showing tendencies to a lighter urbanization mode instead of the heavy development, although heavy urbanization will still have its demand.

 

OEBRMEYER and Chinese Universities

OBERMEYER shared their rich experience in urban design and architecture at this international symposium, including successful cases in sustainable development, and innovative design. Also, the discussions with the Chinese academic community, covering the challenges and opportunities facing current urban development, as well as how to address these issues through innovative design and planning methods. This event not only deepened the Chinese academic community's understanding of international cutting-edge urban design concepts but also provided OBERMEYER with opportunities to collaborate with the Chinese academic community to jointly promote the development of urban design and architecture.
